VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra University has got better grades from NAAC when compared to any other University in the country, Vice-Chancellor B Satyanarayana opined. There has been a huge demand for management education and as a result newly designed programmes have emerged to respond to this demand.

The range of options and therefore the choice available to those who wish to pursue management education have also broadened, the Vice-Chancellor added.
Speaking at a meeting held at inaugural function of MBA for International students in the campus here on Sunday, Satyanarayana said that management of consumers was the most important factor in shaping management education. They are increasingly heterogeneous now more than ever before in their needs and preferences.

In a way they reflect their personal life situations, resources and the needs of business, he said. The market value of the programmes, however, depends on the brand value of schools offering these programmes and the skill-set the students possess.

Those who come from good schools are well rewarded. As a measure to globalise management education offered by Andhra University, the Department of Commerce and Management has designed an exclusive programme for foreign students, he added.

Dean of Academic Affairs, Andhra University D Harinarayana, International students advisor Viswanadh, Head of the department of DCMS B Appa Rao and M Madhusudhana Rao also spoke.

Soft skills course: The Department of Commerce and Management Studies (DCMS), Andhra University has started the soft skills programme for the benefit of the students of M.Com and MBA. The programme was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor B Satyanarayana.

Speaking at the gathering the Vice- Chancellor thanked the Chief Executive Officer of Teaching Fish for sharing the social responsibility and requested the students to make use of this programme that was very important to improve communication skills and added that one cannot get a suitable placement without these skills.

Head of the department of DCMS B Appa Rao informed the august gathering that after discussing with the CEO of Teaching Fish, a reputed soft skill institute, the department has entered into an MOU for imparting soft skills.
