The three-decade-old system is getting transformed into online allowing more flexibility.

The IIMS have finally decided to conduct the CAT online. The format that is followed in CAT is GRE-GMAT format. Its multiple choice test.

The new computer-based test (CBT) will be embraced by IIMs across Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow and Shillong, and will allow students to select a date convenient to them from a specified period of 10 days.

Around 3 lakh students seeking admissions into IIMS are appearing for CAT online.

Beside the 7 IIMs, the CAT score is also used by 124 other management institutions to enroll students.
