BANGALORE: You don’t need to sharpen your pencils and get new black pens this year: it is e-CAT now. After years of mulling, IIMs decided that the
toughest entrance test Common Admission Test for admission to the premier institutes is best cracked online.
Starting from registration to announcement of results, everything will be online. The test will be held for 10 days, starting November 28. Students have the option to select the date and test centres of their choice. The test will be held at 10 am and 3.30 pm each day. The duration is 2.5 hours, including the initial 15-minute tutorial. The sale of vouchers commenced on Wednesday. Candidates may register online, and the admit card will be emailed.


HOW TO REGISTER ONLINE

Before starting online registration, purchase a voucher You have 20 minutes to fill the form. If you fail to complete it in this target time, restart Click on Register for CAT online 09 at www.catiim.in or http// iim.prometric.com Enter the voucher number and log in. There is provision for new users to start a new user ID Type in personal information, your IIM choices, work experience (in months), educational qualification, interview centre and details of special accommodation if you are a differently-abled person Enter voucher number, user ID and password again Once the details are filled and submitted, the candidate profile is made. A copy will be sent to candidates e-mail , take a print-out . If you don’t receive it, log in again and click on resend application Admit card will be emailed, and its copy should be brought to the test centre


WHO IS ELIGIBLE

Candidate must hold a Bachelors degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA 45% in case of candidates belonging to SC, ST and Differently Abled (DA) categories awarded by the universities. Candidates appearing for final year or equivalent qualification examination or who have completed degree requirement, awaiting results, can also apply
