The common Entrance Tests in India are increasingly becoming popular as it allows the students to apply to various colleges in different states of the Indian Union. The candidates seeking admissions in any professional course must check the common Entrance test calendar and its details so that they do not fell short of any information about medical, engineering, MBA, MCA, law, pharmacy, nursing or other entrance exams. Common entrance examinations are held to admit students in almost all the professional courses such as medical, engineering, MBA, MCA, Pharmacy, law, nursing and others.
CET: Common Entrance Test
Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the state level universities in India for the MBA/MMS post graduate programs in Management. Some of the popular ones are MAH-CET of Maharashtra, PGCET of Karnataka, GCET of Gujarat, ICET of Andhra Pradesh and TNCET of Tamil Nadu.
MAH-CET :
Common Entrance Test (CET) is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education and is accepted by over 80 institutes in Maharashtra , including the prestigious Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS). The selection procedure for most MBA institutes accepting CET scores consistsof ranking based on scores obtained in Written Test, Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Past Academic Record and Work Experience.
The professional colleges in the state offering such courses are affiliated to the state run universities, and admit students through the CET annually. The fee structure varies from year to year.
Important Dates: CET is usually held on Sunday in February every year.
Eligibility: Age Limit: There is no age limit for admission into the MBA/MMS degree courses. Academic Eligibility:
Passed with minimum of 45 percent marks in aggregate* ( 40 percent in case of backward class candidates from Maharashtra State only) in any Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities. OR
Appeared for the final year examination of any Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities. Duration:
The total duration for the exam of CET is 120 minutes. Test Pattern:
The Total marks are 240 and the distribution is as follows:
Written Test 200 marks
Group Discussion 17 marks
Personal Interview 17 marks
Academic record 4 marks
Work experience 2 marks CET is a 2-½ hour paper consisting of 200 questions. Each question carry 1 mark, with no negative marking. It tests the following areas:

• Mathematical Reasoning
• Visual Reasoning
